The Jammy Gits

 We’re Martha and Mitch, known as The Jammy Gits. We’re full-time travel content creators who began documenting our journey in July 2022, after selling our house and leaving our jobs to pursue a life of adventure and exploration.

The name “Jammy Gits” comes from British slang meaning “lucky people,” which felt like the perfect way to describe ourselves—grateful and fortunate to take the leap and live the life we’ve always dreamed of.

Our journey started with a European road trip in a VW T5 campervan, followed by a winter escape to Vietnam, exploring the country by motorbike. Returning to England, we built an off-grid campervan that supported our travels across Europe and Asia. In early 2024, Martha learned to ride a motorbike, which led us into a new chapter of motorcycle adventures. By April 2025, after completing our final motorbike trip, we decided to combine the best of both worlds—van life and motorbiking—when we discovered Jambo, our 2005 Land Rover Defender 110, which we’ve since converted into the ideal companion for our travels.

In September 2025, we’ll embark on our biggest adventure yet: a four-year, around-the-world trip. Starting in the UK, we plan to drive the length of Africa down to South Africa before shipping onward to South America and beyond.
